Dear Colleagues,

We are happy to announce that the Young Economist Symposium will be hosted this summer by Princeton University, although due to ongoing travel restrictions, the conference will be held online. The conference is scheduled to run from Monday August 16th to Friday August 20th 2021, and this is a call for submissions.

The Young Economists Symposium is an entirely student-run and student-led conference hosted by a consortium of Economics departments consisting of UPenn, Princeton, Yale, NYU, and Columbia. YES will consist of one week of academic talks and discussions, as well as several social events which will be held through Zoom. Its purpose is to give graduate students the opportunity to gain valuable exposure of their work by presenting and discussing it with their peers from a range of other schools.

There is no fee for submitting to or registering for the conference.

If you would like to present your work at the conference, please submit an anonymized draft of your paper by following the submission procedure outlined in the “submissions” section of our website (https://sites.google.com/view/youngeconomistsymposium) by June 11th, 2021.

We welcome submissions from PhD students from all schools in all fields of economics, and we specifically encourage and welcome submissions from under-represented groups in economics. Please note that if you are accepted to present, you also agree to act as a discussant for another student’s presentation.

To sign up to attend, and for more information, please visit the conference website. This will be continually updated, so be sure to check back for the most up-to-date information.

We look forward to hearing from you.

The YES 2021 Team, Princeton University
